How to Merge Two Images

Want to combine two images into one? Do it in three steps with mergeimage.org: select → adjust → export.
Pinch-to-zoom is supported on mobile; after selection, you can drag thumbnails to swap their order.

Quick Start (3 Steps)

  1. Open mergeimage.org
  2. Click to select two images (click-to-select only)
  3. Choose horizontal or vertical layout → download the result

Tips: When unsure, use this default recipe: horizontal side-by-side + spacing 12–16 px + JPG quality 80 + width 1440–2048 px.

Step-by-Step

Select Images

  • Click to select exactly two images
  • Supported formats: PNG / JPG / WebP

Layout & Alignment

  • Layout: horizontal (left-right) or vertical (top-bottom)
  • Horizontal comparison is usually clearer; vertical works well when aspect ratios differ

Zoom & Order

  • Mobile pinch-to-zoom for fine composition control
  • After selection, drag the thumbnail to swap the order of the two images

Spacing & Background

  • Spacing: 12–16 px is clean and readable
  • Background: solid color or transparent; for transparency, export as PNG

Export

  • Format:
    • JPG (small file size; 80–85 quality recommended for general use)
    • PNG (lossless; better for text/UI/transparent background)
    • WebP (often smaller; quality ~80 is a good balance)
  • Resolution:
    • Social: 1440–2048 px width
    • For higher clarity, increase export width; for smaller files, reduce it

Ready-to-Use Presets

  • Before/After comparison: horizontal + 12–16 px spacing + JPG quality 80
  • Poster-like side-by-side: horizontal + generous outer margin + PNG (if transparency is needed)
  • Top/Bottom narrative: vertical + 12–20 px spacing + width ≥1440 px

Balance Quality and Size

  • Transparent background → PNG; photos → JPG (80–85 quality)
  • Smaller size → try WebP (around 80 quality)
  • Blurry export → increase width or switch to PNG/WebP
  • Too large → reduce export width first, then lower quality to ~80

Troubleshooting (15s Preflight)

  • Text/edges sharp enough? If not, increase width or use PNG
  • Composition balanced? Pinch-zoom or reposition as needed
  • File size OK for your platform (often ≤1 MB)?
  • Orientation correct? If not, rotate in your OS viewer first, then select
